Thank you.
Your support is greatly appreciated.
Although For the Love of Dog requires an adoption fee when we place a dog in a new home, this fee rarely covers our full expenses. The ordinary veterinary costs (vaccines, spay/neuter, testing and preventative) always exceed what we receive through adoption fees. Additionally, the day to day expenses of housing foster dogs are never fully recouped. Our costs increase exponentially when we commit to a dog that requires special care or surgery.
If foster space isn’t available, we may need to board a dog temporarily, further increasing our expenses. All of these costs quickly add up.
We need your help to continue providing the best care possible for our homeless canines. By giving a donation to our organization, you not only help to cover ordinary expenses, but also support us in managing extraordinary vet bills. Your generosity ensures that every dog receives the care and attention they deserve while waiting for their forever home.
Supporting an Individual Dog
Some people prefer to earmark their donation for a specific dog, and we welcome and encourage this. All of our dogs need help, but sometimes associating a face and name with your donation makes it more personal. You may sponsor a dog that needs boarding, help to pay for a dog’s special needs, or just help us feed and care for a particular dog. Please read the biographies of our dogs and let us know which dog you wish to support. Any donations that exceed the dog’s expenses will be used to help other dogs through the general fund.
Common expenses include:
-
- Spay/Neuter for one dog – $600
- Sponsor a kennel run for a homeless dog for a week – $140
- Food for one dog, for one month – $90
- Vaccines for one dog – $100
Your sponsorship donations may be made in memory or in honor of a special friend or family member. Check with your employer to see if they offer a corporate donation matching program. Donations are tax deductible.*
