Sam

Sponsored by:

April 28, 2007 - Sam was adopted today by Elyse in NJ and Dale in NH. Really, he was adopted by Elyse, and Dale gets visiting rights :) Sam is an exceptional boy who is loved by everyone who meets him. After adoption, he had surgery to repair a genetic problem with his eyes (possibly why he was given up in the first place!). Sam goes everywhere, loves everyone, and has the best forever home imaginable -- where he is the YOUNGEST dog in the household.

September 26, 2007 - Elyse writes: I call him Super Sam since he's such an awesome dog.  He's been to work with me and loves car rides, going to the pet store and is loving life.  His previous owner doesn't know what an amazing dog they threw away!

Sam was surrendered at age 8 to a high volume urban shelter. Quick action by shelter staff got this dog into rescue, as he was destined for euthanasia (overcrowding). Sam is extremely friendly and social, knows all of his commands and then some, and has fantastic house manners. Sam should be about 95 lbs, but tips the scale at just over 100. He is a fantastic example of a rottweiler - a beautiful blocky head and nice conformation. Sam is a one-of-a-kind boy who would like a less-active household where he can walk daily and enjoy a quiet life. Sam gets along with other dogs, large and small, but has not been tested with cats.
